PRESS TRIP: CLEARWATER, FLORIDA

Clearwater, Florida is one of America's favorite vacation destinations. There's a four-night familiarization trip for journalists.

Date: May 12, 2009 (Tue) to May 16, 2009 (Sat)

What is Included:
  • round-trip air transportation (from a North American airport served by major carriers) to and from the Clearwater area
  • ground transportation
  • accommodations

  • passes to activities
  • receptions, presentations and other activities
  • behind-the-scenes tour at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium
  • visit with Winter, the injured Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin
  • exploring Clearwater Municipal Marina
  • sailing at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center
  • excursion to Caladesi Island State Park

What Not Included:
  • Connecting flights to and from airports not served by major carriers
  • personal amenities
  • souvenirs
  • tips and gratuities
Who can apply:
  • Professional travel writers on assignment for a recognized media outlet; a letter of assignment is required for freelance journalists.
  • Journalists must provide a brief bio and copies of at least six recently published articles; Web site links are acceptable.
  • Journalists who have participated in previous Clearwater press trips are not eligible.
  • Space is reserved for a maximum of eight journalists on assignment; spouses, partners, children or guests cannot be accommodated.
  • Selected journalists who accept, but cancel within two weeks of the trip, agree to pay a penalty (equal to airline cancellation fee) to the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Apply Deadline: March 17, 2009 (Tue). Selected participants will be notified by March 24, 2009 (Tue).
